Kaden went to bed a two year old and woke up a 3 year old. I wanted to make his special day so special, so the night before his birthday, after he went to sleep, I adorned his door with balloons and streamers. When he woke up he was so excited to see the decorations and a huge smile immediately showed up on his face. Kaleb and I wished him a happy birthday (Kyle wasn't home from work yet so he wasn't there in the morning) and Kaleb helped him rip through the streamers. Kaleb gave Kaden his present from him right away because he was too excited not to wait.
He loved the present from his brother!
For a special birthday morning breakfast, the boys helped me make cake batter pancakes with a confetti frosting...yummy! Now I wouldn't recommend this sugar filled meal for breakfast every day, but for special occasions it is perfect!
He was licking the frosting and eating the confetti even before he started eating the pancake part!
So excited to eat his breakfast treat
My handsome 3 year old big boy
We sang happy birthday to him at breakfast:)
Santa sent Kaden a special birthday message too!
When Kyle got home from work he brought his birthday boy an M&M covered caramel apple
We also waited til Kyle got home to give him a present from us. He was not only excited to get another present, but to have his Daddy home for his birthday too. My boys adore their Dad so much!
Our Little Hulk with his new Hulk gloves!
After Kyle got home from work we headed to the movie theater to watch the newest Ice Age. We couldn't resist Kaden's request for popcorn and candy. We had to do what the birthday boy wanted, right? The movie was so cute and each time we go to the movies, the boys seem to sit through it a little better.
Brothers!
After the movie we headed to Itz for some food and games. We originally planned on going to Manitou to the arcade their, but in true late Summer fashion in Colorado we were getting a downpour of rain. It is monsoon season in August here. I think Itz was a hit though...the boys ran all over the place getting their hands on every game they could. They were so excited to play games, they didn't even eat their dinner that great...or maybe it was all the candy and popcorn they previously had at the movies.

Kaleb determined!
My strong man!
I hope we made Kaden's day memorable and full of fun. I just want to always make sure my boys feel special and loved on their birthdays. Birthdays are a huge deal to me because it marks another year gone by and all the milestones that were reached in that year and it also means celebrating for the next year to come. I am blessed to have two handsome and healthy boys and I want to celebrate that as well. Growing up my Mom and Dad always made a big deal on my sister and I's birthdays, and those birthdays were such fond and wonderful memories of mine. I just want to do the same for my boys!
