Almost 24 hours later of traveling (business class made it so much easier and bearable) and waking up in my own comfy bed was such a nice feeling. I am now tending to loads of laundry and decompressing from all the delicious food we consumed. I for sure thought I gained 10 pounds in a week, but luckily all the walking we did prevented that from happening. We thoroughly had a wonderful time in the South of France, but desperately started to miss the boys after not seeing them for a whole week. It will be fun when they are older and can become globetrotters with us.
Once we arrived in overcast and gloomy Paris, we hopped onto another plane that took us straight to sunny and warm Marseilles, which is on the Southern coast of France. Linda and Craig met us at the airport and even though I was plagued with exhaustion, we were ready to start our vacation. We changed out of clothes we had been traveling in for 24 hours (changing on the side of the road lol) and headed down to the marina area to walk, shop, and get a bite to eat. The coastal views were breathtaking atop the hill in which Notre Dame De La Garde rested. After an afternoon of walking and taking in the sights, Kyle and I napped for a good few hours before we were treated to a traditional French meal at Linda's Aunt Ella's apartment where we stayed the night. The combination of traveling, and good food lent us to have a wonderful night sleep so we were ready for the adventures that awaited us the next day. We slept in a little, woke up, and headed for a scenic drive through mountains and coastal cliff towards our next destination.
